resume to be considered.Department SummaryThe Office of Contract
and Grant Administration (OCGA) is a part of the Office of Research
Administration (ORA) and supports the $1 billion annual research
program at UCLA. Under delegated authority from the University of
California Office of the President, and the UCLA Chancellor, OCGA
has institutional authority to solicit, accept, and execute
research agreements for government and non-profit sponsored project
activities. OCGA has primary responsibility for the interpretation
of University-wide and campus policy, sponsor guidelines, and
applicable federal and state laws and regulations related to
sponsored activities.Position SummaryThe Senior Contract & Grant
Analyst provides guidance to UCLA faculty and staff in proposal
development and award management, reviews and authorizes the
submission of electronic and paper proposals, and negotiates,
accepts and executes moderately complex contract and grant awards
from government and non-profit sponsors. Responsibilities include
but are not limited to:
- Communicate complex policies and procedures in a helpful and
professional manner to campus investigators and department support
staff.
- Independently review proposals and/or negotiate moderately
complex grants, subgrants, and/or others as assigned.
- Initiate review of contracts and subcontracts.
- Develop and participate in assigned special projects and
support training efforts for junior staff members.This position has
delegated signature authority by the Regents of the University of
California, and the Contract & Grant Senior Analyst is expected to
professionally represent OCGA demonstrating skill, enthusiasm,
positive problem solving, commitment and loyalty to the profession
and the organization.Salary & Compensation*UCLA provides a full pay
range. Actual salary offers consider factors including budget,
prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education,
licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.

- 5 or more years of experience in a related field or equivalent
education with transferable skills/knowledge. (Required)
- Strong computer skills and ability to use applications
supporting campus administrative processes, including the current
version of Microsoft Suite and electronic research administration
systems. (Required)
- Experience and ability to conduct detailed review of contract
and subcontract proposals. (Required)
- Highly developed problem-solving skills to identify
concerns/issues in procedures and business processes.
(Required)
- Independently manage and prioritize daily portfolio to meet
fixed sponsored deadlines. (Required)
- Solid written and oral skills to compose documents and
communicate effectively. (Required)
- Demonstrated ability to act as a mentor and positive role
model. (Required)
- Ability to contribute to process improvement to achieve
efficiencies. (Required)
- Effectively deliver ongoing training and guidance to junior
staff. (Required)
- Solid working knowledge of Intellectual Property (IP),
Jurisdiction and Governing Law terminology and concepts.

- Experience in identifying and resolving complex issues in
awards and subawards. (Required)
- Solid working knowledge of academic research values and
expectations. (Required)
- Skill in negotiating project agreements while protecting the
University's interests. (Required)
- Proven interpersonal competence to maintain positive
